Property Access Information

We look forward to your upcoming stay at Hideaway in Hindes in Hindes, Texas!  Please find below Property Access information regarding your upcoming stay.

House will be ready by 3 pm on check-in date unless otherwise agreed upon. If you do plan on arriving early, please check with us a day in advance to see if we can accommodate early check in.  Check-out on your departure date is by 11 am.

Directions:   

GPS will NOT get you to exact location which is typical with rural addresses. Please follow directions to avoid getting lost. Home is 11 miles south of Charlotte off of Highway 97.

Here’s directions from Charlotte:

Use your odometer to avoid getting lost. Take note of Odometer reading when you leave Charlotte.   We are 11 miles from Charlotte!

Coming from Charlotte on Highway 97, travel 11 miles. After you pass the green Hindes sign, turn right into first residential entrance with an electric gate.  Black metal electric gate on left says Roy and Pam Hindes and has a team roper on it. Attached is picture of green Hindes sign and gate entrance. 

If your coming from Tilden area:

Take Highway 72 to Highway 97.  When you get to highway 97, turn right. Go about 15 miles towards Charlotte. When you pass San Miguel Creek, you will go about 1/2 mile and see entrance on the left. Black metal electric gate on left says Roy and Pam Hindes and has a team roper on it. See picture of electric gate entrance to the right.  

When you get to the electric gate there is a keypad past the mailboxes on drivers side.  Your temporary electronic gate access code will be the last 4 digits of cell number provided at booking by the reserving guest. Gate access code will be activated at check-in and access code will be deactivated at check-out time. The electric gate opens towards highway. The electric gate will automatically close after 30 seconds, so drive in quickly after it opens to avoid damage to your vehicle. Do not piggy back behind someone else entering gate.  Please make sure the gate closes completely each time you enter or exit.  (We are not responsible for damage to vehicles.) After entering gate, drive in and you will see driveway and house on the left.  

Home address: 22140 West Highway 97.  Hindes is located in the southwest corner of Atascosa County. The small community of Hindes is located 11 miles south of Charlotte, towards Cotulla off of Highway 97.

Please note:  As disclosed in our listing, for your security and ours, we have ring cameras.  The property is equipped with an outdoor security system to monitor the exterior doors and outdoor areas.  There is an outdoor camera in the front exterior of the home and one in the back/side exterior of the home, and such cameras are continuously recording video.  

The raw beauty of this area is that underdeveloped, rural charm.  AT&T cell service works well here, but Verizon and Sprint cell service may not work as well.   

Kitchen is fully equipped with many appliances, such as:  Full size refrigerator with freezer, electric cook top with oven, microwave, and pots & pans, dishes, glasses, utensils, blender, toaster, Keurig duo coffee maker, crockpot and more.  We provide all the linens, pillows and bath towels.  We also have a full laundry facility.  Laundry detergent and laundry softener are not typically provided, unless the previous guests have left it.  Basic amenities for the couple first nights (soap, toilet paper, trash bags etc) are provided as well yet you will need to replenish that in case you run out.  

Walmart and HEB are 30 minutes away in Pleasanton. Both Walmart and HEB offer curbside pickup if you would like to plan ahead, order online and pickup your groceries before heading out to Hindes.  Charlotte (11 miles away) does have a small grocery store, A&I, for something you may have forgotten.

We do not subscribe to a cable TV service, but we do have TVs hooked up to WiFi via Firesticks. Firesticks are loaded with several apps for viewing. Feel free to bring your username and passwords to your Dish, Hulu and/or Netflix account to log in on the Firestick.  (Don't forget to log out before you leave.)  We also provide a 10 ft. HDMI cable with HDMI to apple converter to plug iPhone or iPad into TV and mirror image to TV. We have chosen to keep our home as natural and peaceful as possible. 

We have a AT&T hotspot for Wifi service.  Wifi Password is:  aggie1998

In the master bedroom, there is an huge walk in closet that we have converted into a Secure Storage Area for your hunting and fishing gear, should you have a private hunting or fishing trip scheduled nearby. We require all firearms & archery equipment to be stored in the Secure Storage Closet Area provided.  The keyless doorknob to the storage closet has an electronic passcode.  After entering the passcode and opening the door, the doorknob will automatically lock when the door is closed.  The doorknob electronic passcode:

Other Important Information

• We are on well water & septic. Please be mindful what goes down the drains & only flush toilet paper.  Please do not put any trash down any of the drains.
• The home is located in the heart of the south Texas Brush Country where may you may encounter venomous rattlesnakes and other wild creatures.  We cannot control Mother Nature & the Great Outdoors:
• Reminder to always be aware of your surroundings. 
• Watch your steps while outdoors.  
• Use a flashlight when it’s dark outside to avoid stepping on venomous rattlesnake(s).  
• Children must be supervised at all times because Property/home is not child friendly.
• Please keep doors closed to keep out bugs/mice/snakes.  
• Stay in the yard around home & front circle parking area on the property in order to respect our neighbors and their property.  Respect property boundaries.
• Do not trespass to neighbors private property behind yard and to the side.
• No firearms or archery equipment may be discharged or used on Property. No hunting.
• Neighbors use the road by the house to travel to their home, should you see vehicles travel the road on the property.  Their dogs sometimes wonder over.  Please do not leave trash or food on front or side patio or in the back of the patio.
• Bagged garbage should be placed in burn barrel outside house along fence.We will burn it.
• Lower the AC to your liking, but please not below 70 as it will freeze up. 
• Please make sure electric gate is completely closed each time you enter or exit the property. 
• Observe Quiet Hours:  10:00 pm to 8:00 am
• Only Registered Guests (listed on Rental Agreement) on Property. 
• Maximum Occupancy rule strictly enforced. No day/night visitors.  No Parties/Events.
• No Pets.  No Smoking of any kind Inside.
• The mounted speakers in the house are not hooked up and will not work.
