What Other Towns are Nearby?

Texas is a big place and South Texas has its fair share of tiny towns and big cities. San Antonio is not far away, but this vacation home is close to Pleasanton, Jourdanton, Tilden, Cotulla, Dilley, Pearsall, Three Rivers, Poteet, and George West.

History of Hindes, Texas

Hindes, Texas currently has a population of 20 but was once a thriving town. Hindes was first settled in 1856, and in 1913 had a post office, a bank, a general store, a gin and 2 churches. When the railroad stopped traveling through Hindes, the population dropped and no businesses remained.   * This home was originally built in 1940 and was a residence on the west side of the original Hindes town square, but has been remodeled and added on since then!

Getting Around

After you turn off Highway 97, there will be a locked, coded, gate. You will follow main road which will lead you right into the home on the left. There is plenty of space to park in the driveway, but please do not drive or park in the grass.   ** You will need the gate access code to enter.** Access to property will not be given until booking is complete:  Rental Agreement is signed & returned, IDs are submitted & Damage Deposit is paid.

Located ~35 mi. from "The Ranch" Tactical Training Facility in Dilley. We are the closest Lodge.

We used this as a romantic getaway and it was the coziest most relaxing stay. We enjoyed cooing wholesome meals in the kitchen, relaxing by the fire pit and cooking outside under the beautiful patio lights under the expansive night sky. We will definitely be back.
